With our chair side whitening treatment or a take home kit, you can typically expect results six or eight shades lighter. The level of whitening varies depending on your natural tooth colour and the type of stains being treated. Everybody reacts differently to teeth whitening due to their unique enamel. Therefore, before your whitening our team will discuss with you your expectations for your treatment.
How long will my teeth remain white for?
That will depend on:
Your daily dental hygiene, and your daily diet, if you frequently drink coffee and red wine, then your teeth will most likely be more affected from staining. It is also common for staining to occur from eating pigmented foods such as blueberries and blackberries. You can minimise the discolouration of your teeth by brushing your teeth twice per day and flossing once per day.
Does teeth whitening provide discomfort?
The level of discomfort may vary due to the sensitivity of your teeth. At Dental Boutique, our team will check your teeth to ensure they are healthy to have a whitening treatment started.
Whether you are having a chair side tooth whitening; or take home kit, to neutralize the effect of the whitening gel a desensitizing gel can be applied.
Can I whiten crowns, veneers, or fillings?
Teeth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel and will not lighten restorations like veneers, crowns or fillings.
How do I maintain my teeth whitening results?
To help maintain your teeth whitening results, we recommend regular at-home whitening as well as trying your best to avoid staining foods and beverages whilst maintaining good oral hygiene. Regular touch-ups and professional cleanings also help prolong results.
